Privacy policy
Your shots, notes and locations are saved only on your device. There are no accounts, we don't track you, and we don't sell or share anything. You choose when to share a shot list.
Who we are
Out & Scout is made by Eltio Studio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. This policy covers the Out & Scout app for iPhone and this website.
What the app uses, and why
Camera, to frame and take stills.
Location, while you use the app, to name each scene after the street you're on, tag shots with where they were taken, and work out where the sun will be.
Photos, add only, to save stills to your library when you ask. The app can't see your other photos.
What leaves your device
Street names and maps come from Apple's location and map services, under Apple's privacy policy.
If you turn on weather forecasts, the app sends your spot, rounded to two decimal places (about 1 km), to a weather service (Open-Meteo) to fetch the forecast. Nothing identifies you or your device.
When you export a PDF, CSV or photos, they go only where you send them. Directions links in an exported PDF open Google Maps, but only when someone taps them.
If you've agreed to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports.
Purchases
If Out & Scout offers paid features, they're bought through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your card or Apple Account.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics or forms. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address the way any website you visit does.
Children
Out & Scout isn't aimed at children, and it collects nothing from anyone.
Deleting your data
Delete a project in the app, or delete the app, and it's gone. We hold no copy.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes, and we'll say what's different in the app's update notes. Questions: hello@eltio.studio.
